Patrick Shanahan did not violate Defense Department rules in favor of an airline manufacturer, the inspector general report finds. The inspector general had launched an investigation based on a series of media and other reports alleging Shanahan had made potentially improper comments in favor of Boeing, a major Pentagon contractor. The White House had previously signaled that President Trump would not nominate Shanahan for the top Pentagon job while the department's inspector general probed his ties to Boeing. |
