Local Weather Alert: Tornado warning issued for parts of Montgomery and Fairfax counties

The National Weather Service issued the tornado warning for parts of central Montgomery County and north-central Fairfax County, in effect until 3:15 p.m. Forecasters said a severe storm capable of producing a tornado was observed in the area of Great Falls in Virginia, moving northeast at 40 mph.
